Our Copper Pipe Coil 22mm x 25m gives plumbers and gas engineers one long length of soft copper, so a run that would need several straight lengths and couplings goes in as a single piece. Fewer joints means fewer places to leak, which matters most under floors and in voids you will not get back into.

Coiled copper is annealed, so it bends far more easily than hard straight tube. At 22mm that is a real help when you are pulling a gas supply through a floor, threading a heating main between joists or feeding an outside tap from a distant point. It takes the same 22mm compression, end feed, solder ring and push-fit fittings as straight copper.

Two things to watch: coiling leaves the tube slightly oval, so re-round the end with a sizing tool before fitting, and soft copper dents easily, so clip it well and sleeve it through walls. Unroll it along the floor rather than pulling the end. Gas runs must be installed and tested by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Why buy 22mm copper in a coil? A coil lets you run long lengths with no joints, and the soft temper bends round obstacles. It suits gas supplies and mains threaded under floors.

Do I need to re-round coiled copper? Yes, the ends come slightly oval after coiling. A sizing tool brings them back to round so an olive or push-fit fitting seals properly.

Can soft copper be bent without a bender? Gentle curves can be made by hand, but at 22mm a bending spring or soft copper bender keeps the bore round on tighter bends.
