Our Copper Pipe 10mm comes as straight lengths of 1m, 2m or 3m, for those jobs where a coil would be awkward and you want a tidy, dead straight run of microbore. It’s the same 10mm size you’ll find on older microbore heating systems across Glasgow.
Straight 10mm is handy for replacing a damaged section of microbore, for exposed tails up to a radiator valve where a kinked coil would look poor, and for short runs off a manifold. If you need long lengths, or want to bend the pipe by hand, our 10mm coils are the better buy.

Straight lengths are collected from the counter.
Use 10mm Compression or Push Fit fittings, or reducers to bring it into 15mm or 22mm. Push Fit needs a support insert and a clean, chamfered end. Microbore has a small bore, so take care not to crush it when cutting: a mini pipe slice works better than a hacksaw. Bends can be made with a 10mm spring or a small hand bender. Remember that microbore systems need a decent pump and clean water, since a small amount of sludge blocks 10mm faster than larger pipe.
Most people pick up 10mm olives, a mini cutter and a couple of reducers with it. Our full copper pipe range includes 10mm coils too.

Common Questions
Can I bend 10mm copper pipe? Yes, small bends are easy with a 10mm bending spring or a compact hand bender. If the run needs lots of bends, 10mm coil is the easier buy.
How do I cut 10mm copper without squashing it? The wall is only 0.6mm, so use a mini pipe slice rather than a saw and don’t over-tighten it. You’ll get a clean, square end ready for the fitting.
How can I tell if my pipe is 10mm or 8mm? Measure across the outside with calipers, as the two are easy to mix up by eye. It saves buying the wrong fittings.
What is 10mm copper used for? Mainly microbore heating and small water feeds. A straight length is ideal where the pipe is on show, like a tail up to a radiator valve, or for a short repair.
What fittings work with 10mm copper? Use 10mm compression or push-fit fittings, or reducers to bring it up to 15mm. For push-fit, fit a support insert and make sure the end is clean and chamfered.
Why does microbore heating block up? There’s not much room inside a 10mm pipe, so a little sludge goes a long way. Flush the system and add inhibitor when you refill to keep it flowing.
