The 110mm Single Socket Low Back P Trap is an underground gully trap with a 110mm ring seal socket outlet, used under a hopper to keep a water seal on rainwater and waste connections. Collect from our Glasgow shop at 555 South Street G14 0QX.
The 110mm Single Socket Low Back P Trap is the trap half of a below-ground gully, for plumbers and groundworkers building a trapped gully at the foot of a rainwater pipe or under a kitchen or utility waste.
It holds a water seal so drain smells stay in the drain, and a gully hopper with a grid sits on top to collect water from a downpipe, a waste pipe or a yard. The low back shape keeps the trap compact, which helps where the drain is shallow. The single 110mm ring seal socket takes the outgoing drainage pipe.
Set the trap level on firm granular bedding so the water seal stays even. Bring incoming waste pipes in below the hopper grid but above the water, so they discharge cleanly. Chamfer and lubricate the pipe end before pushing it into the socket, and fill the trap with water once it’s in.
Hoppers, bottle gullies and pipe for the 110mm Single Socket Low Back P Trap are all in our soil and underground pipe and fittings range.

Common Questions
What goes on top of the P trap? A gully hopper with a grid, which collects the water and directs it into the trap. Square and rectangular hoppers are both made for this.
P trap and hopper, or a bottle gully? A bottle gully does the same job in one piece and is quicker to fit. A trap and hopper gives more choice of top and lets several waste pipes discharge into one gully.
Where should waste pipes discharge? Below the grid but above the water level in the trap. That stops splashing and keeps leaves from blocking the pipe end.
How should the pipe be bedded? Lay it on a granular bed, such as pea gravel, with a steady fall, and surround it in the same material before backfilling. Keep big stones and rubble away from the pipe and fittings.
