The FloPlast PVC-U Drainage Plain Pipe 3m is a plain ended length of terracotta PVC-U underground drain pipe. It is used for below ground foul and surface water drainage around a house.
What FloPlast PVC-U drainage plain pipe is used for
This is the pipe that runs in the trench: from the bottom of a soil stack to an inspection chamber, from a gully to the main drain, or between chambers. It belongs to FloPlast’s underground drainage system.
Being plain ended, it has no socket on either end. You join it using FloPlast’s Push Fit underground fittings and pipe couplings, which have captive seals that grip the pipe. Cut lengths are no problem, which is why plain ended pipe is handy for making up short runs between fittings.
- Cut square, then chamfer the cut end so it doesn’t push the seal out of its seat.
- Use silicone lubricant on the seal and pipe end. It makes the pipe far easier to push home.
- Bed and surround the pipe properly in the trench and keep a steady fall. Building control may want to inspect it before you backfill.
- Connecting to an older clay drain needs the right adaptor, so check what is there before you dig.
