Geberit Mapress Stainless Steel Gas Slip Coupling 15mm to 108mm

The Mapress Stainless Gas Slip Coupling is the repair and tie-in fitting of the stainless gas range, in sizes from 15mm to 108mm, for Gas Safe registered engineers. A normal coupling has a stop in the middle; a slip coupling does not, so it can slide fully onto one pipe, then back across the gap to be pressed on both sides.

Use it to cut a damaged section out of an existing run, to put a new tee into a main after isolation, or to close the last gap where neither pipe can be sprung apart. It is made from CrNiMo 316 stainless steel 1.4401 with a yellow HNBR seal ring and yellow gas marking, and Geberit list the gas range for natural gas, liquefied gas and biogas.

Measure the coupling and mark its final position on both pipes before you start sliding, as without a stop it is easy to end up with one side short. Check both depth marks before pressing. We carry 15mm, 22mm, 28mm, 35mm, 42mm, 54mm, 76.1mm, 88.9mm and 108mm.

Common Questions

What is the difference between a slip coupling and a normal coupling? A normal coupling has a stop in the middle so each pipe goes in to a set depth. A slip coupling has no stop, so it can slide along one pipe and back over the gap.

How do I make sure both sides are engaged? Mark the centre position on both pipes before sliding, and check the depth marks either side before you press. The Mapress Stainless Gas Slip Coupling leaks if a side is left unpressed.

Who can install Mapress gas fittings? Any work on a gas installation must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, including the tightness test.

How do I tell gas Mapress from water Mapress? Gas fittings are marked yellow with a yellow HNBR seal and yellow plugs. The water range has black seals and clear plugs, and must not be used on gas.
