28mm turns up on bigger houses, shared plant and light commercial work. The 9mm wall is mainly about cutting heat loss inside the warm envelope of the building. For a cold space, a thicker wall gives more protection. The cells are closed, so moisture struggles to get into the foam on cool pipes.

Line the seam up before the strips touch, because once the adhesive grabs it is hard to move. Run your thumb along the full length so the joint closes tight. Seal the ends between lengths with Armaflex adhesive or tape.
