Banico Gas Minder interlock systems stop gas reaching the burners in a commercial kitchen unless the extract fan is running, which BS 6173 and the Gas Safe rules call for. The panel watches the extraction and switches a 230V gas solenoid valve, and its stop button cuts the gas straight away in an emergency. Choose the GM-4 control unit on its own, the ISP-3 pack with everything except the valve, or the GM-4CS with fan sensing built in.
The GM-4 proves the fan with an air pressure switch or fan current sensor. The ISP-3 pack adds the DPSA-20 differential pressure switch, DK-1 duct kit with tube and connectors, and the EM-1 remote emergency stop button. The GM-4CS has two fan current sensors inside the box, so it interlocks up to two fans without a pressure switch. Each needs a 230V Banico ZEV gas solenoid valve, sold separately in our gas interlock section. Fitting must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer with the electrical work to current wiring regulations.

Common Questions
Is a gas solenoid valve included? No. Every model needs a 230V gas solenoid valve sized to the gas pipe, and we stock the Banico ZEV valves from 1/4 inch to 3 inch.
Which model should I buy? The ISP-3 pack is the complete kit for a canopy with an air pressure switch. Pick the GM-4CS where you would rather sense the fan current, or the GM-4 alone if you already have the switch and stop button.
Does a commercial kitchen need an interlock? Yes. BS 6173 requires the gas to burners to be interlocked with the mechanical extraction in a commercial kitchen.
