Banico gas solenoid valves are the shut off valve at the heart of a gas interlock. The valve stays shut until the coil is powered, so gas only reaches the burners while the interlock panel, fire alarm or knock off button allows it, and it slams shut in under a second the moment power drops. We stock the range from a compact 1/4 inch valve up to 3 inch BSP, all 230V AC and normally closed.
Fit the valve on the gas supply after the isolating valve, with the arrow on the body following the gas flow and the coil no more than 90 degrees off upright. Wire it to the interlock panel output (live, neutral and earth through the cable gland) and use the 1/4 inch test points either side of the body for a pressure gauge or proving system. Pick the size that matches the pipe, not the appliance connection. All gas work must be carried out and tested by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Common Questions
Does this valve work with a gas interlock panel? Yes. Banico make the ZEV valves to run from their Gas Minder GM-4 interlock panels, and they suit any panel with a 230V valve output.
What happens in a power cut? The valve is normally closed, so it shuts the gas off as soon as power is lost and opens again only when power returns and the panel allows it.
Which size do I need? Match the valve to the pipe size of the gas line it sits on, from 1/4 inch for a single small appliance up to 3 inch for a large kitchen or plant room supply.
