Black Malleable Iron Tee used to connect three male threaded fittings or spigots.

What is an equal tee?

All three ends have the same thread size, so a branch of the same size comes off the run. It is the most common tee on screwed pipework.

What do I use if the branch needs to be smaller?

Pick a reducing tee, or screw a bush into the branch of this equal tee. A reducing tee keeps the joint count down.

Can black iron tees be used on heating systems?

They are used on heating and plant room pipework. Use a sealant rated for the system temperature.
