A standard isolating valve has a small bore that can cut flow, and the Brass Isolation Valve Full Bore avoids that. The hole through the ball is about the same as the pipe bore, so water passes through with little loss.
When to choose a Brass Isolation Valve Full Bore
Go full bore where flow matters. Good examples are gravity-fed showers, bath taps on a low pressure system, and combi boiler feeds, where every bit of flow counts. It also suits feeds to mixer taps that are slow to fill.
The valve fits on 15mm pipe. Make each joint with a new olive, holding the valve body steady while you tighten so it does not twist. It turns a quarter turn from open to closed, so it shuts off fast if a hose or tap lets go. Check the position mark when you fit it, so you can tell at a glance whether it is open.

What does a full bore valve mean? When it’s open, the waterway through the valve is the same size as the pipe, so it doesn’t choke the flow the way a reduced bore valve can.
When should I use a full bore isolating valve? Use one where you want to isolate a run without losing any flow, for example on a main supply or a line feeding several outlets.
Are all ball valves full bore? No, some are reduced bore with a smaller hole through the ball. This brass valve is full bore.
What can I use this valve on? It’s suitable for water, oil, natural gas and LPG, and is WRAS approved. Any gas work must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
