Compression Brass Lever Isolating Valve 15mm

The Compression Brass Lever Isolating Valve 15mm is a brass in-line valve with a small lever on top, so it can be shut off by hand. It joins 15mm pipe at both ends with nuts and olives, with no heat needed.

Where the Compression Brass Lever Isolating Valve 15mm fits

Use it on feeds to taps, WC cisterns, washing machines and dishwashers, anywhere you want a quick shut-off without a screwdriver. The lever shows its position: in line with the pipe is open, and across the pipe is closed.

Square off the pipe ends and take the burr off. Fit each nut and olive, seat the pipe in the valve and do the nut up with a second spanner holding the body. Position it so the lever can swing freely. Turn it over every so often, so it moves easily when needed. A lever valve is also easier for older customers than a screwdriver slot, which is worth thinking about in a family home.

How can I tell if a lever isolating valve is open?

The lever lines up with the pipe when it is open and sits across the pipe when shut. You can see it at a glance.

What size spanner do the 15mm nuts take?

Spanner sizes vary a little between makes, so an adjustable spanner or a set of open ends is the safe bet. Hold the valve body with a second spanner as you tighten.

Can I reuse the old olive?

Fit a new olive where you can. An old one has already been squashed to the old pipe and may not seal again.
