Common Questions

Which coupler size do I need?

Match it to the outside size of the pipe. The 8mm and 10mm suit microbore heating, 15mm covers radiator and tap feeds, 22mm the main runs, and 28mm to 54mm bigger supplies.

Can it join chrome pipe to plain copper?

Yes, the outside sizes are the same, so one end can take chrome and the other bare copper. That is handy where the visible part of a run is chrome and the hidden part is not.

Should I use jointing paste on the olive?

It is not needed for the seal, as the olive does the work. Some fitters wipe a little on the olive to help it bed in, but wipe off any excess so it does not mark the chrome.
