Common Questions

In what order should I tighten the three nuts?

Push all three pipes in to their stops, then nip each nut up a little at a time, going round the tee. That keeps it square instead of pulling it off line.

Can a chrome tee go on a heating run beside a radiator?

Yes, a Compression tee is commonly used on heating flow and return pipes. Fit it where the nuts can be reached later in case one needs a tweak.

Can the tee be taken apart later?

It can, which is one of the good points of Compression. If a joint is opened, a new olive gives the best chance of a dry joint when it goes back together.
