On show pipework, a Compression Chrome Plated Female Tee lets you take a threaded outlet off a copper run without heat and without a brass fitting spoiling the look. Two of its ends are Compression ends for pipe, and the third has a female thread.
Choosing the right Compression Chrome Plated Female Tee
Look closely at the size order, because it shows which port carries the female thread. 15mm x 1/2″ x 15mm puts the thread in a different place from 15mm x 15mm x 1/2″ and 22mm x 22mm x 1/2″. Makers do not all list the ports in the same order, so check the photo or ask at the counter. Then pick the one that matches the way your pipe needs to go.
The female thread takes a male fitting such as a drain cock, an air vent or a threaded adaptor. Seal the thread with PTFE tape or a jointing compound, and use new olives on the pipe ends.

What goes into the threaded branch of this chrome tee?
Typically a drain off point, a gauge or an adaptor with a male thread. Dress that thread with PTFE or paste first.
Should I fit the threaded part before the pipe?
Yes, screw the male fitting into the tee on the bench first, then fit the tee to the pipe. That way the Compression joints are not twisted.
