Three Compression ends, all the same size: the Compression DZR Equal Tee is the standard way to take a branch off a copper run without lighting a torch. The body is DZR brass, which resists dezincification far better than ordinary brass.
What it is used for
Teeing off for a new radiator, an outside tap, a second basin, or splitting a mains supply in a plant room. Compression tees are also good for working on systems that cannot be fully drained, or anywhere hot works are not welcome. Everything stays serviceable, so it can be undone later if the layout changes.
Sizes available
- 15mm for radiator tails, taps and appliance feeds
- 22mm for domestic mains and heating runs
- 28mm for larger domestic and small commercial work
- 35mm, 42mm and 54mm for commercial mains and plant rooms
Fitting tips for Glasgow jobs
On the larger sizes, set the tee where you want it and tighten each end a bit at a time rather than finishing one end and then wrestling the others into line. Back each nut up with a second spanner on the body. If it is going on old copper, clean the pipe with wire wool where the olive will sit, as a pitted pipe will not seal.
Female branch and reducing versions sit alongside the Compression DZR Equal Tee in our Compression DZR fittings section.

Common Questions
Can a DZR equal tee go in without draining the whole system?
The section you cut has to be isolated and emptied, but Compression needs no heat or dry pipe, so it suits systems that cannot be fully drained.
How do I fit a tee into an existing pipe?
Cut out a section a little shorter than the tee, spring the pipe ends in, then tighten each nut. Where the pipe cannot move, a slip coupler helps.
Can it carry a gas supply?
Not as listed here: this DZR tee is sold for water and heating. Anything on a gas supply must, by law, be fitted by a Gas Safe registered engineer with fittings approved for gas.
