This Compression DZR Female Branch Tee runs straight through on two Compression ends and drops off a female threaded branch in the middle. The body is DZR brass, chosen to resist dezincification.
Where a female branch tee helps
Any time you need to tap a threaded fitting straight off a run: a drain cock, a pressure gauge, a valve with a male thread, or an adaptor to another pipe system. It saves putting a tee and a separate female adaptor in, so the job is tidier and there is one less joint. On heating it is handy for adding a drain-off or a filling point on the flow or return.
Sizes available
- 15mm x 15mm x 1/2″ female branch
- 22mm x 22mm x 3/4″ female branch
Fitting tips, Glasgow trade style
Do the threaded joint first while the tee is in your hand. Wrap the male thread going into it with PTFE in the direction of the thread, or use a suitable thread sealant, and get it tight before you set the tee onto the pipe. Then line up the branch where you want it and make the two Compression joints. Hold the body with a second spanner when you tighten, so the tee does not twist off line.
Equal and reducing tees are listed with the Compression DZR Female Branch Tee under Compression DZR fittings.

Common Questions
DZR female branch tee: what can screw into the branch?
A male threaded part such as a drain cock, a pressure gauge, a valve or an adaptor. Match its thread to the 1/2″ or 3/4″ branch.
Is it handy for adding a filling point on heating?
Yes, it gives a threaded branch for a filling loop connection or drain off point on the flow or return. Any filling link to the mains must have the right backflow protection.
Should the branch face up or down?
For a drain point, face it down or to the side at the lowest spot. For an air vent, it needs to face up at a high point.
