Compression DZR 3 Pieces Reducing Set 22mm to 28mm

The Compression DZR 3 Pieces Reducing Set lets you drop a larger Compression fitting down to a smaller pipe size, so a 22mm tee can take a 15mm leg, for example. You get three separate DZR brass parts, all resistant to dezincification.

Uses for the 3 piece reducing set

Instead of carrying every reducing tee and elbow going, a reducing set turns one port of a standard equal fitting into the smaller size. It goes into the larger end where the olive would normally sit, and the smaller pipe then makes its own Compression joint inside it. Handy on repairs where you have an equal fitting already in place and need a smaller branch off it, or when the van is short of the exact reducing fitting.

Keep the parts together until you fit them, as they are easy to lose in the bottom of a tool bag. Assemble in the order they came out of the bag, push the small pipe fully home, and tighten steadily. Do not try to use a reducing set on Push-Fit or soldered fittings, as it only suits a Compression port of the matching larger size.

What are the three pieces in a DZR reducing set?

Usually a reducing body that sits in the large port in place of the olive, plus a small nut and olive for the smaller pipe. Keep them together until fitting.

Can the set go into a Push Fit or soldered fitting?

No. It only works in a Compression port of the matching larger size, using that fitting’s own nut.

Is a reducing set as good as a reducing fitting?

Made up properly it seals just as well. It adds a joint, so where you are fitting new it is tidier to use a proper reducing tee or coupler.
