Compression DZR Reducing Coupler 15mm to 22mm

Joining two different pipe sizes in a straight line is what the Compression DZR Reducing Coupler is for. It has a larger Compression end on one side and a smaller one on the other, all in DZR brass to resist dezincification.

What it is used for

The 22mm x 15mm is the one you will use most: dropping a 22mm feed down to 15mm for the last run to a basin, an appliance or a radiator. The 15mm x 10mm pattern suits microbore heating, where 10mm pipe runs to the radiators off a 15mm main or manifold feed. Both save fitting an equal coupler plus a reducer, which means fewer joints.

Glasgow counter tips on fitting

Microbore 10mm copper is soft and squashes easily, so cut it with a small pipe slice rather than a hacksaw and do not overtighten the nut on that side. If the 10mm is plastic pipe rather than copper, fit the right insert first. On all sizes, push the tube fully into the socket before tightening and hold the body steady with a second spanner.

Common Questions

Reducing coupler or a reducing set in an equal coupler?

The reducing coupler is one solid fitting with a nut and olive each end, so there are fewer parts to go wrong. A reducing set suits when an equal fitting is already in place.

Does the 10mm end need anything different?

Use a 10mm olive and nut, and take care not to overtighten, as microbore copper is soft. On 10mm plastic pipe, fit the insert first.

Can water flow either way through it?

Yes, flow direction does not matter. Just put the larger end on the larger pipe.
