With a Compression end for copper and a female BSP thread on the other, the Compression DZR Female Coupler is a straight adaptor for screwing onto male threaded fittings. It is made from DZR brass, which resists dezincification.
What it is used for
Connecting copper to male threads: valve tails, pump valves, male-ended appliance connections, cylinder fittings, or steel pipe with a threaded end. It also gets used to adapt between systems, for example screwing onto a male iron fitting and carrying on in copper. The bigger sizes are common in plant rooms and on commercial supplies.

Fitting tips from our Glasgow team
Put the PTFE or jointing compound on the male thread that goes into this coupler, not inside the female thread. Tighten the coupler onto the thread first, holding the mating fitting so it does not turn, and only then make the Compression joint onto the copper. On heavier sizes, two big grips or a pair of stilsons make life easier than adjustable spanners.

Common Questions
DZR female coupler sizes: which number is the thread?
The second one. A 15mm x 3/4″ takes 15mm copper and screws onto a 3/4″ male thread, which lets you go onto a bigger thread without an extra reducer.
Does the female coupler go on before or after the pipe?
Before. Screw it onto the male thread and get it tight first, then push the copper in and do up the Compression nut.
What is the 54mm x 2″ used for?
Large supplies and plant room work, where 54mm copper has to meet a 2″ male thread on a valve, pump set or steel pipe.
