A compression stop end caps off the end of a pipe so nothing can get past. We sell it in 8mm, 10mm, 12mm, 15mm, 22mm, 28mm, 35mm, 42mm and 54mm. The compression stop end 15mm is the one most often asked for, when a radiator or tap comes off and the feed has to be closed for good or for a while. It is handy for plumbers, heating engineers and householders alike.
It has one compression end that goes onto the pipe, and a closed end. Our listing covers its use on water, gas and oil pipework. No heat is needed, so you can fit it in a cupboard or under a floor without a blowtorch. Because it unscrews, it is a sensible choice where the pipe will be picked up again later, such as on a kitchen refit.

Common Questions
What is a compression stop end?
It is a cap with a compression nut that seals the open end of a pipe. You use it when a radiator, tap or appliance is taken out and the pipe has to be closed off.
How do you fit a 15mm compression stop end?
Turn the water off and drain the pipe. Cut the end square, clean off the burr, slide the nut and olive on, push the stop end fully onto the pipe and tighten. Turn the water back on and check for weeps.
Can a compression stop end be used on gas?
Our listing covers gas, water and oil. Any work on a gas supply must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer, who will test the joint once it is made.
Can I take a stop end off later?
Yes. Undo the nut and the stop end comes off, ready for the pipe to be extended. Fit a new olive if you cut the pipe back.
