Once a job outgrows 28mm, Copper Pipe 35mm is the next step up. It’s the size you’ll see on bigger boilers, plant room headers, commercial cold mains and the risers in blocks of flats. We supply it in 1m, 2m, 3m and 6m lengths.

35mm suits heating primaries on larger systems, low loss header connections, gas runs sized for higher loads, and water distribution in shops, schools and offices. Read the markings on the tube if the spec calls for a particular grade.

At this size most installers use Press Fit fittings or End Feed. Compression fittings are made in 35mm, though they need a good spanner and plenty of care. If you’re soldering, it takes a lot more heat than small bore, so a bigger torch tip and clean, well-fluxed joints make all the difference. Use a proper large-capacity cutter, deburr inside and out, and support the pipe well, since a full 35mm run of water is heavy. Bending by hand isn’t realistic here, so plan in elbows and bends.

Can you bend 35mm copper pipe? Not really on site, as standard 35mm tube has a heavier 1.2mm wall and is too stiff. Plan your changes of direction with bends and elbows instead.
