A 400mm high Double Panel Single Convector radiator is a neat answer for low windows. It is a Type 21, or P+: two steel panels with one set of convector fins between them, so it is slimmer than a Type 22 but warmer than a single panel.
Why choose a double panel single convector at 400mm
A Type 21 sits in the middle for output and depth. That suits bedrooms and smaller rooms where a single panel would struggle but a full Type 22 would stick out too far. At 400mm high, it fits under most sills, even in older flats with deep window bottoms. The wide range of lengths means you can match it to the window width.

Hold the radiator up against the wall with the brackets fitted, so you can check sill clearance. Mark with a level and use proper fixings. Work out the pipe centres from the actual radiator before cutting tails. Fit a pair of valves, fill, then bleed from the top vent until it runs water. Common Questions
Type 21 or Type 11 for a small bedroom?
If a single panel would only just cope, the Type 21 gives a margin without sticking out as far as a Type 22.
How do I check sill clearance?
Offer the radiator up with the brackets on and see where the top sits. Leave a gap below the sill for air.
Can I paint the radiator a different colour?
Use a paint made for radiators and do it with the heating off. Ordinary paint can yellow or peel when hot.
