System details: built to BS 5254 and BS EN 1451-1:2000. The fittings are moulded from white high temperature polypropylene and have compression outlets for plastic waste pipe of 32mm/1¼” and 40mm/1½”.

The wider system also has a pedestal trap of unusual design, four shower trap combinations with a plastic or chrome grid, and several appliance traps for fitting washing machines, dishwashers and the like.

How do I solvent weld these FloPlast waste bends? Cut the pipe square, clean both surfaces, apply solvent cement to the pipe and the socket, then push together and hold briefly. Dry fit first, as the joint is permanent once it sets.

Why is this waste bend 92.5 degrees instead of 90? The extra two and a half degrees gives a horizontal run a slight fall, so the water keeps heading for the outlet.
