The FloPlast Cast Iron Style Soil Pipe 1.8m – Plain is a plain-ended 110mm PVC-U soil pipe, finished to look like old cast iron on the outside of a building.

Where FloPlast Cast Iron Style soil pipe is used

It suits period properties, conservation areas and tenement backs where a grey or white plastic stack would look out of place. You get the appearance of a traditional iron stack without the weight, the painting or the rust. It’s part of FloPlast’s “Cast Iron” Style soil range, which joins with Ring Seal fittings.

Use the matching Cast Iron Style clips and couplings rather than standard ones, or the illusion falls apart at the first joint. Cut square, deburr, lubricate the seals with silicone, and allow a small expansion gap at each joint. Clip the stack firmly. On an old back court wall, fix the clips into sound stone or brick rather than loose render, and check each one before moving up the ladder. How do I cut 110mm soil pipe straight? Mark a line right round the pipe so it’s square, cut with a fine-toothed saw, then deburr and chamfer the end. Lubricate the seal before pushing the pipe home.

Can this soil pipe be used underground? No, the SP9 is for above-ground soil and vent stacks. Below ground you need proper underground drainage pipe.

Will standard 110mm soil fittings work with it? It’s 110mm, but stick to the Cast Iron Style fittings, clips and couplings. A plain grey or white fitting would spoil the look straight away.

Why is the pipe 1.8m long? That’s the old cast iron pipe length, so your joints land in the same places as on an original stack.
