FloPlast MDPE Male Coupler 20mm to 32mm

Going from MDPE pipe into a female thread is a job for the FloPlast MDPE male coupler. It grips the blue pipe on one end and gives you a male BSP thread on the other.

It screws into female threaded valves, tank connectors, water meters and brass fittings. So it often turns up on garden taps, feeds to a garage or shed, and where new MDPE joins old pipework. It is a cold water fitting.

Do the threaded end first, using PTFE tape on the male thread, and do not over tighten plastic into brass. Then prepare the pipe. Cut it square, fit a liner, slacken the nut and push the pipe fully home. Do the nut up by hand. Before you bury anything, put the supply under pressure and check every joint is dry.

Common Questions

Can a plastic male coupler go into a brass fitting?

Yes, but do not overtighten it, because a plastic thread can split inside brass. A few turns of PTFE tape and a firm hand tighten is enough.

Which size do I need for a 32mm main into a 1 inch valve?
