The FloPlast MDPE Reducing Tee lets you split an underground cold water supply and drop down a size on the branch. The run goes straight through, and the side outlet is one size smaller.
Where a FloPlast MDPE Reducing Tee fits in
Think of a 25mm supply coming up the garden with a 20mm leg peeling off to a garage, a stand pipe or a second property. The 32mm version does the same job on a bigger main with a 25mm take off. Each end has a nut that you tighten down by hand, so no special tools are needed, and the joints can be taken apart again later.
- Sizes: 25mm x 25mm x 20mm and 32mm x 32mm x 25mm
- For MDPE polyethylene water pipe
- Compression nut and seal on every end, tightened by hand
- Used on cold mains water, often below ground
Cut the pipe square and take off any burr. Most installers push a liner or insert into the pipe end before making the joint, because it keeps the soft pipe round under the seal. Push the pipe in past the grab ring until it bottoms out, then nip the nut up. Test before you backfill the trench. More MDPE bits sit in our MDPE and Alkathene Fittings range.

Common Questions
Do I need liners in MDPE before fitting the tee?
Most installers fit a liner or insert in each pipe end. It keeps the pipe round under the seal, which matters on buried supplies.
Which way round does the reducing tee go?
The two big ends sit on the main run and the smaller branch takes the take off. For example, run 25mm through and branch off in 20mm.
Can these MDPE joints be buried?
MDPE fittings like this are used below ground on cold supplies. Bed them in sand, test before backfilling, and keep the depth the water authority asks for.
