FloPlast Solvent Cement 125ml joins PVC and ABS Solvent Weld waste pipe and fittings, with a brush in the lid. A small tin for a sink or basin run, from Plumb Parts in Glasgow.
FloPlast Solvent Cement 125ml is the small tin of cement for making Solvent Weld joints on plastic waste pipe and fittings. The cement softens both the pipe surface and the inside of the fitting socket, and the two fuse together as it sets.
Making a joint with FloPlast Solvent Cement 125ml
Cut the pipe square and take off the burr. Dry fit first so you know the joint lines up. Then brush cement onto the outside of the pipe and the inside of the socket, push the pipe fully home with a slight twist and hold it for a few seconds. Leave the joint alone for a few minutes before handling it, and give it several hours before you run water through. The tin label gives the exact times.
The 125ml size suits a single sink, basin or bath waste, because a small tin stays fresh. On a bigger job, the 250ml tin saves running out halfway.
