Where a soil vent pipe comes up through a tiled or slated roof, the FloPlast Weathering Slate SP320 gives a weathertight seal round it without dressing lead. It has a rubber boot on a flexible metal base.
Fitting the FloPlast Weathering Slate SP320
The base sheet is 500mm x 600mm. It slips in under the courses above the pipe and lies over the ones below, and you can dress it to the profile of the roof by hand. The rubber boot grips the soil pipe as it passes through, so rain stays outside.
Position the boot before you finish the tiling round it, since lifting slates later is a pain. Trim the boot opening only as far as needed so it stays tight on the pipe.
Press the base down into the profile carefully, because sharp creases can crack it. On an exposed roof that takes a battering in winter, make sure the top edge goes well up under the course above.
A weathering collar and vent terminal usually finish the job.

Will the SP320 fit a 110mm soil pipe?
Yes, it is listed with the FloPlast 110mm soil system and its boot is made for a 110mm pipe. Trim the boot only as far as needed so it grips.
Can it be used on a steep roof?
It is made for pitched slate and tile roofs, with a base that you dress to the roof shape by hand. On a very steep or unusual roof, check the FloPlast fitting notes before you start.
Do I still need a collar on top?
A weathering collar and a vent terminal are the usual finish above the slate. They are separate parts, so order them along with the slate.
