A 1/2″ female tapping straight off a plain spigot is what the Geberit Mapress 316 Stainless Steel Adapter Female Thread Plain End gives you. The spigot is sized to the stainless pipe, so it pushes into the socket of a tee or other Mapress fitting and is pressed there.
Uses of the Geberit Mapress 316 Stainless Steel Adapter Female Thread Plain End
Every size has the same 1/2″ thread, which tells you what it is mostly for: small connections off a bigger run. Typical examples are a pressure gauge, an air vent, a test point, a temperature sensor or a drain cock. Plug it into the branch of a tee and you have a threaded point without a separate reducer.

Screw the gauge or vent into the female thread before you press, if the layout lets you. Check that the thread sealant you use is suitable for 316 stainless steel. Mark the insertion depth on the plain end and push it fully into the mating socket. Then press with the jaw for that pipe size, and look at the mark again. Common Questions
Why does every size have a 1/2″ thread?
This adaptor is made for small tappings off bigger pipe, such as a gauge, air vent or sensor. If you need a full bore threaded outlet, look at the female thread adaptors with larger threads.
Can it plug into the branch of a 54mm tee?
Yes, the 54mm x 1/2″ spigot pushes into a 54mm socket on a tee or elbow and is pressed there. Mark the depth on the spigot first.
What thread sealant should I use on stainless?
Use PTFE tape or a paste that is rated for 316 stainless steel and for the water in the system. Make the threaded joint before you press, so no twisting reaches the seal ring.
