Sold complete with a stainless nut, the Geberit Mapress 316 Stainless Steel Adaptor Union C/W SS Nut Female is a press union fitting. It presses onto stainless pipe and has a female thread on the other side of the union.
What the Geberit Mapress 316 Stainless Steel Adaptor Union C/W SS Nut Female is for
Unions let you break a joint without cutting pipe. So you fit one next to anything that may need replacing or servicing, such as a pump, meter, water heater, filter housing or control valve. With a stainless nut, the whole union is stainless, which suits jobs where the specification calls for stainless throughout.

Make the threaded joint onto the equipment first, before any pressing. Check the union faces and any seal are clean, and do not let grit get into them. Then press the other end onto the pipe after the usual cut, deburr and depth mark. When tightening the union nut, hold the body with a second spanner.
