Supplied complete with a 316 stainless steel nut, each Geberit Mapress 316 Stainless Steel Adaptor Union C/W SS Nut Male joins stainless press pipe to a female threaded part through a union. One end presses on, and the other carries a male thread.
Fitting your Geberit Mapress 316 Stainless Steel Adaptor Union C/W SS Nut Male
The male thread screws into a valve body, a pump connection or a vessel boss. The union in between means you can later take that equipment off without disturbing the pipe. Engineers tend to put one on each side of anything that will need servicing, so the part drops straight out.

Thread the male end into its fitting first and seal it with a product suitable for 316 stainless steel. Hold the adaptor on its flats rather than on the union nut while tightening. Next, prepare the pipe in the normal way and press the socket end. Finally, close the union and tighten it gently, because the seal does the work, not brute force. Common Questions
Is a stainless nut better than the standard one?
It keeps every part of the union stainless, which some specifications ask for on drinking water and process jobs. Geberit sell both versions, so follow the project specification.
Can I put this union on the inlet of a water heater?
Yes, the male thread goes into a female port on the heater and the union lets the heater come off later. Follow the heater maker’s instructions on valves and connections.
How many sizes take a 22mm pipe?
Three: 22mm x 1/2″, 22mm x 3/4″ and 22mm x 1″. The thread size is the second figure.
