The Honeywell Motorised Valve opens and shuts a heating or hot water circuit when the programmer or thermostat calls for it. We sell it as 2 Port x 22mm, 2 Port x 28mm, 3 Port x 22mm and 3 Port x 28mm. The 22mm 2 port is the one most house systems need, and the 28mm valves suit bigger pipework.

A 2 port valve is a plain on or off zone valve, so an S plan system uses one on the heating leg and one on the hot water leg. A 3 port mid position valve sits where the flow splits and sends water to heating, hot water or both, the Y plan layout. The powerhead lifts off the body without draining down, so a dead head is often a quick swap.

The valve runs on mains voltage. Isolate the supply and wire it to the system diagram, or have someone competent do it. Bring the old head or body in and we will match it at the counter.

Do I need a 2 port or a 3 port valve?

Go by the system you have. Separate valves on the heating and hot water legs means 2 port (S plan). One valve where the flow splits means 3 port (Y plan).

Can I just change the head?

Often, yes. If the brass body is sound and not passing, a new powerhead is the quicker job.
