Common Questions

What is a back plate elbow for?

It screws to the wall or a noggin and gives a fixed threaded outlet, for example for an outside tap or a shower.

Is the threaded end male or female?

Female, so a tap or male fitting screws into it.

How should the thread be sealed?

Use PTFE tape on the male thread going in. Speedfit asks that jointing compounds do not touch the plastic parts.
