The JG Speedfit MDPE plug closes off a spare socket in a Push-Fit MDPE fitting. Push it in, and that leg of the fitting is sealed until you want to use it.
Using the JG Speedfit MDPE plug
A common job is a tee put in for a future branch, such as a supply to a garden room that has not been built yet. The plug keeps the leg sealed and clean. It is also handy during a repair, when you need to close off a fitting quickly and get the house back on water. Because the fitting is demountable, the plug comes out again later.

Push the plug fully into the socket, the same as a pipe, and give it a firm pull to check. A plug has mains pressure behind it, so test before you bury it. Make a note of where it is, so the next person can find the spare connection.

What is the plug used for?
It seals a spare socket on a Speedfit MDPE tee or fitting, so you can leave a branch ready for later. Push it in like a pipe end.
Can the plug come out again?
Yes. Turn the water off, hold the collet square against the fitting and draw the plug out. The socket is then free for the new pipe.
Does a plug need testing before burial?
