The JG Speedfit 22mm 135 Degree Stem Elbow (PEM572222WP) is a white plastic push-fit 45 degree offset with a 22mm socket and a 22mm stem, for dog-legs on copper or Speedfit barrier pipe in water and heating. Pick it up from our Glasgow counter at 555 South Street G14 0QX.
The JG Speedfit 22mm 135 Degree Stem Elbow gives a gentle 45 degree change of direction on 22mm pipe, with a 22mm push-fit socket on one end and a 22mm plastic stem on the other. Maker code PEM572222WP, and it suits plumbers and heating engineers on copper or Speedfit pipe.
Use it where a 90 degree turn is too sharp, or to dog-leg a 22mm pipe round something. Pair two and you can offset a run past a joist, a soil pipe or a boiler bracket. The stem of one pushes straight into the socket of the next, so the pair sits close with no offcut between them. That’s useful at 22mm, where Speedfit’s smallest clipped bend radius for PE-X pipe is 225mm and there often isn’t room.
The socket takes 22mm copper, or barrier pipe with a 22mm insert. Dry-fit the offset first so both bends point the right way, then push everything home (35mm into a 22mm socket) and lock the caps. The stem joint can rotate, so clip either side of the JG Speedfit 22mm 135 Degree Stem Elbow. The 90 degree versions are in our JG Speedfit range too.

Common Questions
What is the stem end for? The stem is the same outside size as the pipe, so it pushes into the socket of another Speedfit fitting where a short offcut would otherwise go. It can swivel in that socket, which helps line things up in a tight corner.
Do I need an insert with this fitting? On Speedfit plastic barrier pipe, yes: push a 22mm Speedfit insert fully into each cut end before it goes in. Copper tube needs no insert. Speedfit only want their inserts used in their own pipe.
How close to the fitting should I clip? Keep clips at least 60mm back from the fitting so the pipe can expand. On surface runs of 22mm plastic pipe Speedfit suggest a clip every 500mm on horizontal runs and every 800mm on vertical ones.
Can it be used on central heating? Yes, on vented and sealed systems, where it’s rated at 3 bar with a short-term top temperature of 95°C. Speedfit want at least a metre of copper between the boiler and the first plastic joint, and none of it on an uncontrolled heat source such as a solid fuel range.
