Sold as the ring alone, the malleable single munsen ring suits jobs where you already have back plates, rod or channel in place. It clamps round steel pipe and hangs from a threaded rod.

When to choose a malleable single munsen ring

Buying rings on their own makes sense on runs hung from strut channel, beam clamps or existing rod drops. It also covers the bigger pipe sizes, going all the way up to 6″ bore. Malleable iron takes knocks and load well, so it suits large heating mains and plant room headers. Because the ring opens, you can put it on after the pipe is in place.

Ring sizes follow the nominal bore of steel tube. So a 2″ ring is for 2″ bore pipe, not a pipe 50mm across the outside. If you are unsure, measure the outside diameter and compare it at the counter. On large pipe, check the boss thread on the ring matches your rod before you start. Also space the hangers to suit the weight, because big pipe full of water is very heavy.
