Fitting a JG Speedfit MDPE stop tap gives you a way to shut off the water on a blue MDPE supply. It is Push-Fit, so it goes in quickly, even in a wet hole.
Choosing a JG Speedfit MDPE stop tap
The straight versions go in line on an MDPE run, for example on a branch to an outbuilding or at the start of a garden supply. The 25mm x 15mm and 25mm x 22mm versions take the MDPE in one end and copper out the other. So they suit the point where the supply comes into the house.

Put an insert in every MDPE pipe end. Copper wants a square cut and the burr taken off before it goes in. Fit the tap where it can be reached and turned without a fight, and check for any flow direction marked on the body before pushing the pipes home. Open it slowly when the water goes back on.

Use the 25mm x 15mm or 25mm x 22mm, which take MDPE in and copper out. The equal sizes go in line on MDPE runs.
Can an MDPE stop tap go in the ground?
JG Speedfit make these for cold water services above or below ground. If it is buried, put it in a stop tap chamber so it can be reached.
Why should I turn it on slowly?
Opening slowly lets air and debris clear without banging the pipes. It also eases the load on new joints.
