A Pegler XPress Press-Fit Copper Coupling makes an inline joint on copper tube with a press tool, so there is no blowlamp involved. Each end has an O Ring Seal, and the jaws crimp the fitting onto the pipe.
Using the Pegler XPress Press-Fit Copper Coupling
Because there is no flame, press fittings save time on refurbishments, occupied buildings and jobs near timber. This coupling is part of the copper range for water and heating. Gas needs the separate Xpress gas range, so do not mix the two.
- Sizes: 15mm, 22mm, 28mm, 35mm, 42mm, 54mm, 66.7mm, 76.1mm, 88.9mm and 108mm
- Straight coupling, copper body
- Made with a press tool and the correct jaws
- For water and heating pipework
Cut the tube square and take the burr off both edges. Pen a depth line on it, push it in to that line, then press. Check the depth mark is still at the fitting after pressing, because a pipe that slipped back will not seal. Larger sizes need different jaws or rings, so match them to your tool. The full copper list is under Xpress Copper Press Fit.

Common Questions
Can I use the Pegler XPress copper coupling on gas? No, this coupling is listed for hot and cold water, heating and chilled water, not gas. Any gas work must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer using fittings approved for gas.
How does the XPress press-fit coupling work? Clean the pipe, mark the insertion depth, push it into the fitting and press it with the right tool. There’s no heat involved, so no hot works are needed.
Do XPress press fittings leak? A properly pressed joint seals, and it’s rated up to 16 bar. The Leak-Before-Press feature means a fitting you’ve forgotten to press will leak during the pressure test, so you can spot it before the system goes into use.
Is the XPress coupling safe for drinking water? Yes, it’s WRAS approved, so it can go on potable water lines as well as heating and chilled water.
Can I solder press fittings? No, XPress fittings are made to be pressed with the proper tool, not soldered. Heating them could damage the seal inside.
What sizes does the XPress copper coupling come in? It runs from 15mm up to 108mm, including 66.7mm, 76.1mm and 88.9mm for larger commercial work.
