Description

The Polyplumb Brass Wallplate Elbow is a right angle fitting on a flat plate that screws to a wall or a noggin. The pipe pushes into one side, and the brass female thread on the other side takes a tap, shower arm or threaded fitting.

Using a Polyplumb Brass Wallplate Elbow

Outside taps, showers and wall mounted taps need a solid anchor, because people pull and twist them every day. The plate takes that load, so the pipe and joint do not. Use the 15mm x 1/2″ on most domestic feeds, and the 22mm x 1/2″ where the supply is run in 22mm right up to the outlet.

  • Sizes: 15mm x 1/2″ and 22mm x 1/2″
  • Brass body with female thread
  • Plate with screw holes for fixing
  • Polyplumb Push Fit socket

Fix the plate to something solid before connecting the tap. In stud walls, put a timber noggin in at the right height. Seal the tap thread with PTFE and tighten it with the elbow held still, so you do not strain the screws. More wall fittings are listed in our Polyplumb Fittings.

Common Questions

What is a wallplate elbow for?

It gives a tap, shower arm or outside tap a solid fixing, so pulling on the outlet does not strain the pipework.

How do I fix it in a stud wall?

Fit a timber noggin at the right height and screw the plate to it.

Brass or plastic wallplate elbow?

Brass is stronger for outlets that get heavy use, such as outside taps. Plastic suits lighter indoor jobs.
