A Solder Ring Slip Coupler is a straight copper joint with no pipe stop in the middle, and we carry 15mm to 54mm. Because it can slide right along the pipe, it is the fitting most plumbers grab for repairing a burst or cutting a new section into fixed pipework.
Where it goes
Use it on pipe that cannot be pulled apart. Cut out the damaged length, slide the couplers back over the pipe, drop in the new piece and slide them across so each covers both ends evenly.

- 15mm for small bore water and heating.
- 22mm for main runs in a house.
- 28mm for larger flows and primaries.
- 35mm for commercial runs.
- 42mm for plant room pipework.
- 54mm for large mains.
Fitting tips
Mark the pipe at half the coupler length on each side of the joint, so you can see when it is centred. Clean the full length the coupler will travel over, flux, slide it into place and heat evenly until solder shows at both mouths.

Common Questions
What is the difference between a slip coupler and a straight coupler?
A straight coupler has a stop in the middle. A slip coupler has none, so it slides fully over one pipe.
How many do I need for a repair?
Usually two, one at each end of the new section of pipe.
Do I need to add solder?
No, the ring inside holds enough lead-free solder. Clean, flux and heat until solder shows all round.
