A Warix Cylinder Flange Male screws onto the top of a vented hot water cylinder and splits the shower supply from the vent and hot draw-off. It comes in 22mm x 3/4″ and 22mm x 1″, with 22mm pipe connections and either a 3/4″ or 1″ thread to suit the cylinder.
How the Warix cylinder flange works
When a shower pump shares the top outlet of a cylinder with the vent, it can draw in air, which makes the shower surge and the pump cut out. The Warix is a variation on the York flange, with the shower outlet on top and the vent on the side. It takes water for the shower from inside the cylinder, so the pump gets a steady feed without air bubbles.

Common Questions
How is a Warix flange laid out?
The shower outlet comes off the top and the vent off the side, so each pipe has its own connection. It is a variation on the York flange.
Which Warix size do I need?
Check the thread on the cylinder top: 3/4″ or 1″. Both versions have 22mm pipe connections.
Will a Warix flange stop my shower pump surging?
It gives the pump a feed with less air, which is the usual cause of surging. If it still surges, check the pump and pipe layout with the pump maker’s guide.
Glasgow fitting advice
Check the cylinder top thread and size before choosing between the two versions. Read the shower pump instructions too, because pump makers often say which flange types they accept. Turn off the cold feed, drain the cylinder down a little, and remove the old fitting. Seal the threads to suit, connect the vent and hot pipes in the right places, and refill slowly while you watch for leaks.
