This blue washing machine hose is the fill hose that runs from the cold supply valve to the inlet on the back of the machine. We list it in 1.5m and 2.5m lengths. It suits plumbers, kitchen fitters and anyone replacing a perished hose or moving a machine to a new spot.
Blue is the colour used for the cold side, so you can tell at a glance which hose is which behind the appliance. Fill hoses sit under mains pressure all the time, get kinked when the machine is pushed back and harden with age. If yours is cracked, bulging or weeping at the nut, change it before it bursts. Turn the valve off first, check the rubber washer is in each nut, and do them up hand tight plus a small nip. Open the valve slowly and check both ends for drips.
We keep washing machine hoses on the shelf at our Glasgow counter. Collect from the shop, or order online.

Common Questions
What thread is on a washing machine hose?
UK appliance valves and machine inlets use a 3/4 inch BSP thread. This is the same thread as a garden hose tap. Check an older or imported machine before you buy.
Which hose length do I need?
Measure from the valve to the inlet and allow enough slack to pull the machine out. 1.5m suits most kitchens, and 2.5m covers a valve further along the worktop.
Is there a difference between hot and cold hoses?
The hoses are colour coded, blue for cold and red for hot, so they go on the right valve. Most modern machines are cold fill only and need just the blue one.
How often should a fill hose be changed?
Check it whenever the machine is moved. Change it if it is bulging, cracked or stiff, because a burst fill hose can flood a kitchen in minutes.
