XPress Yorkshire Press-Fit Copper Male Flange PN16 66.7mm to 76.1mm

The Xpress Yorkshire Press-Fit Copper Male Flange PN16 gives large bore copper tube a flanged end, so you can bolt it directly to drilled PN16 valves, pumps, strainers and plant. One end joins the Xpress copper run and the other is the flange face.

Where it’s used

Plant rooms on commercial heating and water jobs are full of flanged equipment. Instead of brazing or threading big copper, you press the copper joint cold and bolt the flange to a pump set or a large isolating valve. With no flame there is no hot works permit to arrange, a real help on occupied sites.

Xpress copper can be used on hot and cold water, closed heating (vented or unvented) and chilled water. It is not for gas, which has its own yellow-marked range.

Sizes and tips

• Fits 66.7mm and 76.1mm copper tube.
• These big sizes call for the right press tooling, so check that your jaws or collars cover the tube size before starting.
• A gasket, plus bolts, nuts and washers for a PN16 joint, are needed and are sold separately from the fitting.
• Do the flange bolts up evenly, working in a cross pattern, so the gasket beds down flat.
• The Leak Before Press design shows up any joint you forgot to press when you pressure test.

What is the difference between the male and female PN16 flange?

Each gives you a PN16 flange on large copper, but they join the copper run in different ways. Look at the listing photo, or ask us which one fits your layout.

What press tooling do the 66.7mm and 76.1mm sizes need?

These large sizes need jaws or collars rated for them, used on an approved tool. A normal domestic van kit will not cope.

Is a hot works permit needed for pressing?

Pressing uses no flame, which is why it is popular on occupied sites. Do follow the site’s own rules on tools.
