Tallest in our flat chrome line-up, the Flat Heated Chrome Towel Rail 500mm x 1600mm gives the most bars for hanging towels.

Where it goes

A 1600mm rail suits a larger bathroom with a tall bit of free wall, and the extra length means several towels can dry at once. It connects to wet central heating through two radiator valves, sold on their own. As with any chrome rail, expect less warmth than from a painted rail of similar size. With a rail this long, plan the position carefully. You’ll want the top bar within easy reach and the bottom far enough off the floor for the valves.

Fitting tips

A tall rail full of wet towels is a real weight on its brackets, so use proper fixings into masonry or studs, not just plasterboard plugs. Get a second pair of hands to hold it level while you mark up. Bleed from the top once filled and recheck later, as air collects in long rails.
