FloPlast Underground Single Socket Square Grid Bottle Gully 110mm

The 110mm Square Grid Bottle Gully is a one-piece trapped underground gully with a square grid and a single 110mm ring seal socket outlet, for plumbers and groundworkers taking rainwater, ground-floor waste or surface water into a drain.

It does in one piece what a trap and hopper do in two: it holds a water seal to stop foul air coming out of the drain, collects water through the grid and sends it out through the 110mm socket. Put one at the foot of a downpipe, under a kitchen, utility or ground-floor bathroom waste, or in a paved area.

The compact bottle shape is handy where there isn’t much depth, which is common at the back of older Glasgow houses. Bed it level on granular material, backfill carefully round it, and set the grid just below the finished paving. Waste pipes should discharge below the grid, and the trap needs filling with water once installed.

Do I need a separate trap with a bottle gully? No, the trap is built in. Fill it with water once it’s fitted so the seal works straight away.

Can the grid be removed? Yes, the square grid lifts out so the gully can be cleared and the drain rodded.

What lubricant should I use on underground seals? A silicone pipe lubricant made for drainage seals. Washing up liquid can dry out and damage the seal, so leave it in the kitchen.

How do you connect underground drainage pipes? Push the chamfered, lubricated pipe end fully into the ring seal socket of the next pipe or fitting. Mark the socket depth on the pipe first so you can see it’s gone fully home.
