These bronze traditional style radiator valves 15mm come as a pair, giving a period look on cast iron and column rads in older homes. The bronze finish suits tenements and villas where bright chrome would jar.
Fitting bronze traditional style radiator valves 15mm
The pipe connects by 15mm Compression, so they go on standard copper heating pipe. One valve goes on each end of the radiator. Old style radiators are often heavy, so make sure the rad is properly supported before you make up the unions.
Drain down or freeze the pipe, then cut it to length. Fit new olives and nuts, and tighten carefully with a spanner and a cloth to protect the finish. Seal the radiator tails with PTFE or a suitable paste.
Fill the system and check every joint as it heats up. Then bleed the radiator and balance it with the rest of the system.

Do I get one valve or two?
You get a pair, one valve for each end of the radiator. That keeps both ends matching on a period radiator.
Will they fit microbore pipe?
No, they are for 15mm pipe. Microbore needs its own valves or a proper adaptor.
How do I keep the bronze finish looking right?
Tighten the nuts with a cloth between spanner and valve, and clean with a soft damp cloth only. Harsh cleaners and wire wool will mark the finish.
