Compression Repair Coupler 15mm to 22mm

The Compression Repair Coupler is a straight fitting with no internal pipe stop, so it can slide along the pipe to bridge a cut out section. We sell it in 15mm and 22mm for plumbers and householders patching a burst or nailed pipe.

Where it goes

A standard coupler has a stop in the middle, so you need to spring the pipe ends apart to fit it. On a pipe clipped tight to a wall or under a floor that is not always possible. A repair coupler slides fully onto one end, then back across the gap, and is tightened in place.

• 15mm for 15mm copper or plastic pipe
• 22mm for 22mm copper or plastic pipe

Fitting tips

Turn off and drain the pipe. Cut out the damaged part square and clean up both ends. Mark the pipes so the coupler sits centred over the gap, with an even length of pipe inside each end. Slide the nuts and olives on, push the coupler onto one pipe, line up the other and draw it back to your marks. Tighten both nuts, then a quarter turn more after a check for drips.

Common Questions

How big a gap can a repair coupler close?

Only a short one. Leave enough pipe inside each end for the olive to grip fully. For a longer bad section, cut in a new length of pipe with two couplers.

Is a repair coupler a permanent fix?

Made up properly it is a normal compression joint and can stay in. Keep it where you can reach it if possible.

Will it work on plastic pipe?

Yes, with a pipe insert in each end. Without inserts the olives can crush the plastic.
