Press Fit fittings are the quick way to joint 42mm and avoid hot works on site. End Feed joints are fine too but need a decent amount of heat, so use a bigger burner and pre-heat evenly round the fitting. Cut square with a large pipe cutter, ream the inside, and clean the outside back to bright metal before any fitting goes on. Brackets need to be stronger and closer together than you’d use on small bore, as a full 42mm pipe carries real weight. Bends are done with fittings rather than a hand bender at this size.
