This external flush cone white rubber seal joins a flush pipe to the inlet horn of a WC pan by fitting over the outside. Cures a drip behind the toilet, and Plumb Parts keeps them in Glasgow.

Description

The external flush cone white rubber is the seal between a flush pipe and the inlet of a toilet pan. It stretches over the outside of the pan’s inlet horn and grips the flush pipe, so water goes into the pan rather than onto the floor.

When to use an external flush cone white rubber

High and low level cisterns feed the pan through a flush pipe. Where that pipe meets the pan, the old cone often perishes and leaks on every flush. This one fits over the outside of the horn, so check that your pan suits an external cone rather than one that pushes inside.

  • White rubber flush cone
  • Fits over the outside of the pan inlet
  • Seals the flush pipe to the pan
  • For high and low level cisterns

Pull off the old cone and clean the pan inlet and pipe end. Ease the new cone over the horn, then push the flush pipe into it. Washing up liquid on the rubber helps it slide on. Make sure it is not twisted, or it will leak at the fold.

Flush a few times and wipe round the joint with tissue to check it is dry.

The internal cones in black and clear are in our cistern fittings range.

Common Questions

External or internal flush cone: which do I need?

Look at the inlet horn on the pan. If the cone has to grip round the outside of the horn, use this external one. If the flush pipe goes inside the horn, you need an internal cone.

Can I just silicone over a leaking flush cone?

Silicone over perished rubber rarely lasts more than a few weeks. Replace the cone and make sure the flush pipe sits square in it.

Does it work on a close coupled toilet?

No. A close coupled cistern sits right on the pan with no flush pipe. This cone is for high and low level cisterns that feed the pan through a pipe.
