Flat Heated Chrome Towel Rail 400mm x 800mm – FHTR4/8

The smallest rail in our flat chrome range, the Flat Heated Chrome Towel Rail 400mm x 800mm, is for tight spaces where a bigger rail won’t go.

Where it goes

At just 400mm by 800mm it fits a cloakroom, small en suite or the narrow strip of wall beside a shower enclosure. Two radiator valves connect it to your heating pipework, and you’ll need to buy those as well. Chrome trades a bit of heat output for looks compared with a painted finish. Other heights and widths are in our straight towel rails page.

Size

• 400mm x 800mm
• Straight chrome ladder rail
• Our code: FHTR4/8

It’s a good fit for a hand towel or a single small bath towel. If you need more hanging space, the 500mm wide versions are the next step up.

Fitting tips

With such a narrow rail, check that both valves will fit comfortably between the rail and any nearby wall or tray. Fix the brackets into something solid and keep it level. Fill, bleed from the top vent and give the joints a check once the heating’s been on.

Common Questions

Is the 400mm x 800mm rail big enough for a cloakroom?

Yes, it suits a cloakroom or small en suite, holding a hand towel or a single small bath towel.

Can a towel rail go beside a shower?

Yes, on a wet heating system it carries no electrics, so it can go on the wall beside a shower enclosure as long as the valves are reachable.

How much room do the valves need?

Allow space under or beside each inlet for the valve body and a spanner, especially close to a wall or shower tray.
